Announcing: Winner of the Inaugural CJC Bob Wordlaw Award

The Chicago Jobs Council is proud to announce the recipient of the inaugural Bob Wordlaw Award: Brenda Palms, Founder/President & CEO of the North Lawndale Employment Network (NLEN).

Named in honor of longtime workforce leader and policy champion Robert “Bob” Wordlaw, this award recognizes sustained leadership, systems-level impact, and a deep commitment to advancing workforce equity and opportunity.

Inspired by the leadership of Bob Wordlaw, Palms has committed her life to expanding workforce opportunities and improving outcomes for individuals facing barriers to employment. She has also been a major influence in championing policy work to embrace returning citizens into the workforce.

Palms will be formally honored during the upcoming Chicago Jobs Council 45th Annual Meeting, a gathering of workforce leaders, advocates, partners, and changemakers committed to advancing opportunity across Illinois.
