Bio
Lesia Barnes is a Program Coordinator for the Chicago Job Council’s Capacity Building team. Joining CJC in May 2024, she oversees the daily operations of a training and technical assistance program that supports IDHS SNAP and other Employment & Training providers across Illinois. Her responsibilities include organizing training sessions, coordinating with various stakeholders, and managing evaluation tools and data analysis to ensure program effectiveness.
With a background in developing and coordinating educational programs, in her previous positions, she has successfully expanded offerings by partnering with prominent organizations to create innovative challenges that increase enrollment. Her experience includes workforce development and career training, showcasing a proven track record in education and community empowerment. Valuing vision, communication, and excellence, she brings a unique perspective from years of experience leading strategic initiatives and fostering community engagement. She is also dedicated to driving positive change and empowering others.
In her free time, she enjoys designing inspirational jewelry, going to the movies or the theater, and practicing Tai Chi.
