Eva Laun-Smith

Training and Development Program Coordinator

Bio

Eva Laun-Smith is the Training and Development Program Coordinator at the Chicago Jobs Council, where she supports the Capacity Building team and their work for workforce development professionals in building the skills and knowledge they need to better serve their communities.

A Fulbright Korea alumna, Eva spent three years teaching English to middle schoolers in Korea, drawn by a desire to bring diverse perspectives to English education and expand her own understanding of how people learn across cultures. That experience gave her firsthand insight into the profound impact that resources and access — or the lack thereof — have on both students and educators. It was through her work with Fulbright Korea's Orientation Training Program, where she served as both Junior and Chief Orientation Coordinator, that Eva discovered her deeper passion for operational work and adult learning — designing and facilitating the experiences that set others up for success.

Eva brings experience developing people, facilitating learning across culturally diverse audiences, and building programs that create meaningful experiences for others. She is committed to creating spaces where every voice is heard and every participant leaves better equipped to do their work.
