CJC convenes the CEJA table: Past and Present Leadership
Written by Esther Kim
We reached an exciting milestone in the first quarter! We are excited to announce our release of the Year 1 CEJA Table report!
We dive deep into the past year of activities and findings from our Clean and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA) Table’s implementation of the CEJA Workforce programs. We want to extend a deep thank you to the CEJA grantees in the Chicagoland area who showed up with expertise and generosity of knowledge and time to advance the promises of CEJA. We also want to extend our thanks to the CEJA team at the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) whom the table worked closely with throughout the last year to navigate the complexities of standing up this landmark legislation.
In addition to our report, CJC was invited to attend two amazing events– a Southern Illinois Clean Energy Summit in Carbondale and CEJA Partner Summit in Springfield. Our CEJA Policy Program Manager joined our CEJA Table members in Springfield along with CEJA partners across the state. The presentations highlighted the vast programs across the CEJA Ecosystem, how to connect the CEJA programs and workforce graduates to employment opportunities. They also showcased the progress made on CEJA workforce and contractor programs, Illinois Solar for All, and Illinois Shines. Together, these presentations reflect the collaborative effort Illinoisans are undertaking to make CEJA happen. We are honored to be part of that work.
