Help Shape CJC's Approach to AI in Workforce Development

As an organization committed to creating “an antiracist workforce development system and employment equity so that everyone can realize their unique pathway out of poverty,” Chicago Jobs Council (CJC) is thinking deeply about the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in Workforce Development.

We’re exploring questions about AI-driven job displacement, equity in AI investments, where jobs may emerge or shift, and what it will mean for employers and job seekers to work alongside AI in the workplace.

Our work is taking several forms. We are engaging our Executive Forum partners, discussing the role of AI at the Skills Table, delivering beginner-to-advanced AI trainings for our training participants, sharing resources through our website and newsletters, and engaging partners across the field in conversations about these issues.

At the same time, we are developing a philosophy and approach to AI grounded in the experiences and perspectives of the field. We want to create an environment where Workforce Development professionals, employees, and job seekers can remain open to innovation, testing, learning, and trying new approaches to understand what works and what benefits the broader Workforce Development ecosystem.

In partnership with Origami Works Foundation, CJC is sharing an AI survey with our partners to understand how you’re currently using AI, what you’re learning, and where you see opportunities and challenges.

Your input will help us shape future policy conversations, resources, and trainings that center the needs of our field.
