Shterna Goldbloom joined the Chicago Jobs Council in 2024 as the Training and Development Program Manager for IDHS Initiatives. In this role, they design, implement, and manage training programs for SNAP Employment & Training, benefiting frontline workers across Illinois. Previously, Shterna led a team of employment coaches at a mental health agency serving young adults from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. There, they focused on removing barriers to employment and building career skills using the evidence-based Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model, which highlights employment as a key intervention for mental health. With over ten years of experience as a teacher and artist, Shterna brings a creative, strength-based approach to workforce development. They are passionate about discussing art, mental health, and building an equitable workforce.
