Did you know CJC has an Engagement Manager?
Angela Morrison is CJC's Engagement Manager, and this month she's celebrating her 9th year with the organization and has been a key contributor to the policy team and some capacity building courses!
How does CJC leverage your role to engage member organizations?
I proactively reach out to member organizations through check-ins, listening sessions and onsite or virtual meetings to understand their priorities and challenges. In my role, I help design and promote webinars, networking events, and advisory groups that reflect member needs and feedback.
I'm also an early touch point for new member orgs to onboard new members quickly and intentionally. I want to be a trusted point of contact, connecting them to the right programs, staff, and resources so they experience a clear value to their CJC membership.
What engagement opportunities does CJC offer member organizations?
There are several ways member organizations can engage and also network with peers. CJC's Workforce Convos are an exclusive, member-only meeting facilitated by the policy and capacity building teams. Workforce Convos are designed to inform member orgs of current trends, funding opportunities, best practices, and challenges that we're hearing about in the workforce ecosystem. Workforce Convos are also a great opportunity for member orgs to share any new programs, trainings, and services that they offer. There's also the Skills For Good Jobs table, which, while not exclusive to member orgs, is where our policy team leads a coalition that advocates for equitable workforce policy, robust funding, and improved systems. This coalition often builds out a legislative agenda during the State's legislative session. There's also the Employment & Income Task Force, Community of Practices, and CJC's Clean Energy Advocacy.
What about non-member orgs? Are there opportunities to engage with them?
Definitely! As the Engagement Manager, my role is support both our current members and engage new member orgs. CJC works as an intermediary, and workforce development is an ecosystem, supported by CJC's members and nonmember orgs alike. To do the best work and advocate for the best resources and systems, we'd like to hear from any org doing this work. I welcome hearing from orgs with an interest in becoming a member or just willing to share what's happening in the programs and services they deliver!
What are some upcoming CJC events, and how can orgs connect with the CJC team?
