IDHS - Preparing & Assessing For Career Readiness Virtual Training

This training is exclusively for SNAP and/or TANF Employment & Training providers in Illinois.

Employment assessments work to help jobseekers identify employment and career goals. Through this training, learn how to better support job seekers experiencing challenges identifying, matching, and developing employment and/or career goals. Staff will be introduced to a variety of assessments that can help their job seekers set and achieve their own career readiness goals. 

After attending this training, you will be able to:
• Understand the key role employment assessments play in evaluating job seekers' values, interests, and skills
• Identify best practices such as self-assessment to improve understanding between various types of employment assessments
• Navigate employment assessments virtually and adapted to meet the needs of hybrid (virtual and in-person) workspaces
• Implement best-practices in employability assessments, individual employment plans, and career planning
