Working Group Information

We use our monthly Workforce Development working group meetings to identify issues in serving disadvantaged job seekers and working poor families. Together, we formulate responses for reforming public policies and improving local programs. The group works to shape local implementation of the federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA). It discusses strategies to create better employment and training opportunities for low-income people.

Audience

Annually, more than 100 community-based advocates and providers participate in this working group. You can join the meeting as a CJC member or other community stakeholder committed to ensuring access to employment and career advancement opportunities for people in poverty.
