Where to Start Your Search

Knowing where to look and who can help can be the most challenging part of finding a new job. Helpful and important information for job seekers is out there. Here are some links to get you started.

If you have a criminal record, visit CJC's Ex-offender Employability web site.

If you have disabilities, go to Illinois Office of Rehabilitation Services (ORS).

To learn about city-funded services, visit the Mayor's Office of Workforce Development (MOWD).

To locate welfare and social services, visit Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS).

To find out what careers are best suited to your skills and interests, visit Career Coach.

For career information, visit Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES), and click on "Career Resources."

To match your skills with jobs around the state, visit Illinois Skills Match, and click on "Job Seeker."
