Policy Priorities

In fiscal year 2008, the Chicago Jobs Council will focus on the following priorities:

Chicago Workforce Development Policy

Improve Chicago's workforce development system to support disadvantaged job seekers and low income workers in their pursuit of quality employment. > More

Illinois Workforce Development Policy

Advance a coordinated and comprehensive vision for improving Illinois' workforce development system so that disadvantaged job seekers and low income workers have increased access to quality job and career advancement opportunities. > More


Programs

1) Increase the capacity of workforce development providers to deliver high quality services to disadvantaged job seekers, low income workers, and employers in order to improve employment outcomes. > More

2) Launch a Workforce Development Resource Center (WDRC) to allow CJC to systematically collect, manage, and distribute data and information related to education, training and employment in Chicago. > More
