Working with Out-of-School Youth

Summary
This full-day workshop will cover the following topics:

•      *Understanding the issues millennial youth face
•      *How to best help out-of-school youth address their internal and external barriers
•      *Best practices in assessing and motivating youth
•      *How to be more effective in "selling" your youth clients to potential employers
•      *Understanding what biases you bring to the table in working with youth

Participants will have the opportunity to hear from a panel of youth job seekers and a panel of employers who hire youth.

Audience
Participants should be new job developers, people who mentor youth, and workforce development staff who work directly with employers to create opportunities for out-of-school youth.
