Angela BakerPolicy AssociateAngela joined CJC in March 2008, as a Policy Associate for Opportunity Chicago to serve as an ambassador to community-based provider networks. In this role, she will transmit program and policy concerns from Initiative stakeholders and providers, assist with the development of strategies, and gather and share best practices with partners.
Prior to CJC, Angela worked for the Florida Legislature’s Office of Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability as a Legislative Policy Analyst. As an analyst, she collaborated with others to analyze legislative issues, develop recommendations, and publish reports to increase government efficiency and service delivery. In addition to her professional experience, she was a 2005 Management Fellow in Savannah, Georgia, worked as a caseworker for children in foster care for Catholic Charities in Chicago, Illinois, and served as an AmeriCorps volunteer for North Lawndale College Prep Charter High School in Chicago, Illinois. Angela holds a Bachelor’s degree in African American studies from Eastern Illinois University and a Master of Public Affairs from Indiana University – Bloomington with a concentration in public finance and local government management.
